Yesterday, Wednesday the 24th of May 2023, gendarmes from Service Central des Recherches Judiciaires (SCRJ) attempted to forcefully take ABDUL KARIM ALI from the Yaoundé Central Prison Kondengui. Their attempt was only forestalled by the determined opposition of other inmates of Southern Cameroons extraction.
Yesterday’s event follows another futile attempt of Tuesday the 18th of April 2023, where two gendarmes attempted to extract ABDUL KARIM ALI from the Yaoundé Central Prison to an unknown destination. This attempt was only stifled by the resistance of ABDUL KARIM ALI and the timely intervention of other inmates obviously animated by the humility, discipline, kindness and graciousness of ABDUL KARIM ALI on the one hand and the gory fate of other inmates extracted in similar circumstances on the other.
The repeated attempts by the gendarmes is not only unlawful and abusive but revelatory of the emptiness of the charges preferred against ABDUL KARIM ALI. In the same light, the attempts clearly expose the conspiracy and mischief of the judicial proceedings against this peaceful but resolute peace crusader and advocate of the rights to self-determination of the people of the former British Trust Territory of Southern Cameroons.
Whereas the attempts of yesterday, Wednesday the 24th of May 2023 and Tuesday the 18th of April 2023 reveal the abuses inflicted on ABDUL KARIM ALI by the government of the Republic of Cameroon, this revelation therefore justifies the direct intervention of the human rights community and people of goodwill to ensure the IMMEDIATE RELEASE OF ABDUL KARIM ALI.
